Cinderella, the delightful fairy tale, centuries old and often told. Everyone remembers when Cindy met and married dopey Prince Arthur Charming . . . or when her fairy godmother had a night-club act. Or the gentle eight-foot-tall, one-toothed hairy beast . . .

At least, according to this way-out made-for-television fantasy film made by a Canadian television network and starring the ingenious puppet creations, the Muppets, who mingled with the live players and vied with them for the funny lines.
Belinda Montgomery starred as Cinderella with Robin Ward as Prince Arthur Charming. Joyce Gordon played the fairy godmother and Pat Galloway the stepmother.
Prince Charming was awkward and clumsy, and his best friend, Kermit, was a frog. Some of Jim Henson’s other muppet creations included Splurge (the eight-foot purple giant), Mona and Lisa, Cindy’s two very ugly stepsisters, grumpy King Goshposh (with the nose and voice of WC Fields), Featherstone, the King’s minister of protocol, plus a host of other hairys, beasts and blobs.
