Dull aerospace engineer Ed Okin (Jeff Goldblum) can’t sleep. His job is boring, his wife is cheating on him and his life is out of control. One night he starts to drive aimlessly through Los Angeles and ends up in the parking garage of LA Airport.
Moments later a mysterious but beautiful young jewel smuggler named Diana (Michelle Pfeiffer) jumps into his car and he finds himself being chased by four Iranians. What follows is a wild chase through the streets of Los Angeles and a very funny one too.
It’s a very bloody comedy. People get killed. Dogs get killed. Even doors get killed.
Peppered with cameos by 17 film directors (including John Landis himself – he’s one of the Iranian thugs), it’s an oddball film to say the least. David Bowie, Dan Aykroyd and Carl Perkins also appear in cameos.
