Surely a tax write-off for someone, this audaciously silly film begins with high school footballer Mike (Paul Walker) being mauled by a lion when school bullies dump him in a wildlife park.
At the point of death, Mike’s brain is placed into the body of an animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex by mad scientist Dr Wachenstein (Terry Kiser from Weekend at Bernie’s). It’s never explained why, and it doesn’t really matter . . .
In his new T-Rex body, our young hero sets out to get revenge on his murderers and be reunited with his cheerleader girlfriend, Tammy (Denise Richards).
Writer/director Stewart Raffill only made the film because he had access to a full-size animatronic T-Rex for two weeks. Rafill wrote the story in a week and kept working on the script as he filmed, constantly asking the cast and crew if they had anything better they could add. To save money, all filming locations were within 25 minutes of his house.
