A former illustrator for an advertising agency, Lois Fisher had previously hosted Trace-A-Pix for WPIX in New York and an early experimental interactive video series in Chicago around 1945, before starring in this ABC show produced by WENR Chicago.
Each week, Lois invented wondrous stories of knights and cowboys and told tales of her adventures with a boy named Looie, a puppy named Poco and a horse called Starbaby which delighted children.
As she told the stories, she drew pictures to illustrate the tale.
When the show moved to five days a week, Fisher used juvenile literature as source material for her stories, including Margaret E Morcomb’s Red Feather and its two sequels.
