‘Mr Lucky’ (John Vivyan) was a professional gambler who had won a plush floating casino, onboard the ship Fortuna II, and used it as his base of operations.
Staying outside the three-mile limit, where he could operate a gambling ship legally, Mr Lucky played host to a variety of people who came to make use of his luxurious facility.
Helping him run the casino was his good friend Andamo (Ross Martin).
The series – which was loosely based on a 1940’s film starring Cary Grant – was cancelled after the sponsors left. CBS was unable to find another sponsor despite the good ratings.
