This short-run domestic comedy series from Associated-Rediffusion Television was written by Belfast writer John Crilley and directed by Peter Croft.
The series aired in the London area at 10 pm on Tuesdays, debuting on 17 July.
Several actors were tested for the lead husband and wife roles, including Katie Boyle, Rona Anderson, Richard Murdoch and Nicholas Parsons. The roles of Tracey and “me” (Wally) were eventually filled by Joan Heal and Leslie Phillips.
Wally was an architect in his early thirties, easy-going and reasonably successful with an office away from his simple, attractive home, to which he travelled daily. He was always a little mystified by his exuberant wife, an irrepressible girl with a streak of stubborn determination.
Glamorous redhead Sandra Dorne played Wally’s secretary Hyacinth – considered to be far too glamorous and personal by a jealous Tracey.
George Benson played Wally’s main client, the overbearing wolf Mr Crudnick.
