This BBC production was the first television series about non-pop music.
Under the chairmanship of host Joseph Cooper, a panel of three music lovers faced questions on a wide range of music, some of it on records, some of it played by Cooper himself.
The panellists on the first programme were Joyce Grenfell, Paul Jennings and Richard Baker. Guest panellists through the years included Robin Ray, Bernard Levin, David Attenborough, Prunella Scales, Eleanor Bron, Juliet Mills, Kingsley Amis, Alan Bennett and Patrick Moore.
More searching questions were put to distinguished guest musicians (one in each programme). The first episode featured world-famous 70-year-old oboist Leon Gossens.
