A crossword-based game show from Granada, produced by John Hamp and hosted by South African Bob Holness (pictured).
Prizes were won by turning up letters to try and guess the word before the opposition did. Verbal clues were provided by Bob, but the original maximum prize was only about £34 anyway. Still, when I were a lad you could buy a block o’ flats wi’ thirty-four quid and still have change to go t’ pictures.
An Australian version of the show was produced in 1967 by Network 10 with Jimmy Hannan hosting.
