This daytime NBC game show aired between July and December 1969 and featured three teams (each comprising a “regular” and a guest celebrity) competing to communicate the identities of famous people through odd and interesting clues.
In each round, host Bill Leyden listed four famous people as possible answers. One member of each team was given a card with one of those famous people on it, and that player would have to assume the identity of that famous person (more than one team could have the same famous person).
Leyden would then ask a bizarre or amusing question to each clue-giver, who would answer in character to hint at their secret identity.
Selected studio audience members, who were represented by the celebrities, received merchandise prizes.
Original host Bill Leyden had to step down after a brain haemorrhage (which would ultimately claim his life six months later, aged 53). Regular panellist Larry Blyden took over as host.
Celebrity guests included Burt Reynolds, William Shatner, Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, Mel Torme, Eli Wallach, Shari Lewis, Chelsea Brown and Tiny Tim.
