This ITV Sitcom featured the problems of Estate Agent Tony Marchant (Leslie Crowther), an unmarried middle-aged man, and his relationship with his dominant, widowed mother (Fabia Drake).
Tony is unable to break free from his mother’s apron strings and looks jealously towards his married older brother, Roy (Ronald Lewis).
He is also reluctant to bring his girlfriends home as his mother quickly scares them away – and so his main hope of freedom is to persuade her boyfriend, Captain Bingham (Derek Farr), to marry her.
