16 x 30 minute episodes
Debuting on ABC on Saturday 7 September 1974, this animated series introduced the Devlin family of three orphans, aged 11 to 20, who supported themselves as a motorcycle stunt team.
20-year-old Ernie Devlin (Michael Bell) was the daredevil motorcycle rider (think a youthful animated version of Evel Knievel), while teenage brother Todd (voiced by former Monkees star Micky Dolenz) oversaw the mechanical work and designed the routines, and kid sister Sandy (Michele Robinson) provided assistance wherever she was needed.
Hank (Norman Alden), the owner of the circus in which they worked, served as the father figure.
The siblings found adventure, crime and mystery at every place they stopped.
Interspersed with the stunts and interpersonal dramas were tips on motorcycle safety to let young viewers know the Devlins’ occupation had plenty of risks.
