One of the last series to be broadcast under the See-Saw branding on BBC 2, Chris and Crumble centred around a girl named Chris and a pink mop-like creature named Crumble.
Chris lived in a semi-detached house and enjoyed a simple life – drinking tea, going to the seaside and attending flower shows.
But then Crumble emerged from under her bed and started eating the clothes in her wardrobe.
Together, Chris and Crumble visited the seaside and jumble sales. Riveting stuff.
Although her gender is never directly referred to, Crumble is obviously female due to her fluttering eyelashes and the fact that she gives birth to eight baby ‘crumbles’ partway through the series.
Broadcast on Monday afternoons (and repeated on Saturdays), the narration was by Peter Hawkins. Animator Tom Bailey provided the stories and pictures.
