This music video show from Channel 10 (Australia) aired on Saturday and Sunday mornings. First screened in February 1987, the show preceded the ABC’s Rageby two months and stayed on the air until 2011.
From 1987 to 1999, the show used the Australian Music Report to rank its top songs, before switching to the ARIA Report in the 2000s. In the late 1990s, it briefly introduced an “Interactive Top 10” based on public voting, though this was later discontinued following allegations of vote rigging.
The show featured a variety of VJs (Video Jockeys) and guest presenters over its long run, including Axle Whitehead, Kelly Cavuoto, Faustina Agolley and Nathan Sapsford.
The final episode aired on 6 August 2011. The last song ever played was Every Teardrop is a Waterfall by Coldplay.
