This short-lived CBS comedy series starred Mork and Mindy‘s Pam Dawber as Ronnie Boswell and stand-up comic Rick Reynolds as her husband of ten years, Rick.
Rick met Ronnie in college and began his career in advertising in Portland, Oregon. He is now a creative director, but his life is one big whinefest . . .
He feels his career is unfulfilled and the kids – Shawn and Jerry – don’t appreciate him, and he believes he has a troubled marriage (his dream of married life was the family on Leave It to Beaver, and he wonders why his married friends with children didn’t talk him out of having children).
Adding to his misery is his man-child brother Andy (David Bowe) who calls Ronnie “Mrs Bro”. Andy has no goals, no plans, no money and is always having fun. He lives in their driveway in an old, beat-up Winnebago he calls “Casa Del Andy”.
He tells everyone within whining distance about his troubles: friends, co-workers, elevator passengers, it doesn’t matter. Rick Boswell is an equal opportunity complainer.
Rick’s only pleasure is his 70-inch projection screen TV with wraparound sound and satellite dish.
