This BBC educational series made learning about history fun for young children as Magic Grandad and his grandchildren went on a series of adventures into the past to meet and find out about famous people from British history.
Originally aired in the BBC2 schools’ timeslot under the Watch banner in 1993 and 1994 with Catweazle‘s Geoffrey Bayldon as Magic Grandad and Kristy Bruce and James Moreno as his grandchildren, the series returned in 2001, 2003 and 2009, with the title role now played successively by Trevor Peacock, Tim Healy, Peter Armitage and Sam Kelly.
