Steve Matrix (Nick Mancuso) is a ruthless professional hitman. He’ll take any job – and eliminate anyone – if the price is right.
As careful and talented as he is, though, someone gets the drop on him and shoots him in the head.
Matrix is placed in suspension between Heaven and Hell, plonked by an ocean of fire and surrounded by all his previous victims. Here, he is offered a deal: spend eternity in Hell or redeem his past evil life by helping people in need.
Matrix chooses the latter, and stories follow his efforts as he is sent back to earth to make up for his deadly past, undertaking assignments given to him by representatives from the “City In-Between”.
He now owns an upscale gym called Silver Flex, managed for him by Liz Teel (Carrie-Anne Moss). He is helped on his soul-saving assignments by his former mob partner and friend Billy Hicks (Phillip Jarrett), who acts as a researcher, clean-up man, and bodyguard.
The series – produced by the USA Network – was shot on location in Toronto.
