Roy’s Raiders – “motorbike couriers to the gentry” – consisted of a motley crew of fantasists, oddballs and social misfits.
The team included Australian iron man Bazza (Shane Withington), Winco (Milton Johns) who was never seen out of his flying jacket and helmet, studious Chris (Edward Tudor-Pole) who had ambitions to be an accountant or maybe even a librarian, and Daisy (Sara Crowe), a “resting” actress who made up for what she lacked in talent by looking terrific in black leather.
Roy Allen (James Grout), aided and abetted by his daughter Jill (Rebecca Stevens) ran the company – operating from a run-down railway arch masquerading as an office – which unsurprisingly was in a “negative trading position”.
The Raiders had to deal with unscrupulous rival courier company Bailey’s Comets – headed up by Gavin Bailey (Des McAleer) – who would stop at nothing to get work.
