Paul Clark (ex Big Breakfast presenter and former jailbird Johnny Vaughan) is a 32-year-old part-time minicab driver and full-time fantasist and wannabe small-time criminal – who still lives at home with his mum (Di Botcher) and sister (Angel Coulby).
He is assisted in his fantasies by his not-very-bright steroid-bloated best friend Sean (Ricky Grover), who amusingly misunderstands the sticky kerfuffles they always get themselves into.
Sean has a pathological compulsion to lie and boast about his “criminal acquaintances,” and his aggressive nature only makes things worse.
Johnny Vaughan co-wrote the BBC series with his pal Ed Allen (son of Irish comedian Dave Allen). It was universally panned by critics (for the script and Vaughan’s acting ability) and achieved very low viewing figures.
Even Vaughan later declared in an interview, “It was shit”.
