Keith Warne (Ian Turpie) manages a depot of the Swift and Shift Courier Company in the (fictional) Sydney suburb of Hasfield where he manages a hapless and inept assortment of individuals.
The drivers include hot-headed Mario (Paul Fenech); his buddy Luigi (former world champion kickboxer Sam Greco); Abdul (Ashur Shimon), who faces frequent customer complaints about his body odour and his objection to deliver certain commercial goods (like alcohol or pork) on personal grounds; fast-talking Habib (Tahir Bilgic), and the twins, Mike and Mark Tanner (Mike and Mark Duncan) who use their identical looks to confuse parking officers, swap shifts illegally, and cause general on-the-road chaos.
Melissa (Melissa Tkautz) is the attractive dispatcher. Agro Smith (Played by Rose Tattoo frontman Angry Anderson, pictured below) is the terrifying and heavily tattooed manager of the loading dock.
Staff in the call centre include naive, sweet new hire Leanne Murdoch (Kirsty Lee Allan); Oliver Vlacic (Oliver Miletic), who Keith constantly calls “Darren”; and lazy, sex-obsessed Anthony Sukor (Anthony Salame).
Also featured regularly are dimwitted but sweet-natured, intellectually disabled warehouse worker George (Stuart Rawe), who is often the target of office jokes (but fiercely protected by Keith) and Renzo Ballini (Renzo Bellato), a heavily accented, older Italian worker who handles admin and general depot maintenance.
Following a recent company takeover, Keith and the depot are constantly under threat from the ruthless, cold-hearted new regional manager from head office, Amanda Doyle (Amanda Keller),
The slapstick SBS comedy series was written and directed by Paul Fenech.
