13th Floor, The (1988)

As a child, Heather Thompson (Kylie Claire) witnesses her crime lord father (Tony Blackett) electrocute a young boy.

When she grows into an adult (now played by Lisa Hensley), the “electrified” ghost of the murdered boy appears to her, and together they set out to expose the crimes of her estranged father.

Coincidentally, Heather is squatting with her best friend Rebecca (Miranda Otto) in the very building where the murder occurred 12 years ago. Her father, meanwhile, has sent some hired thugs to try to find her.

There are brief appearances from future Aussie acting heavyweights Miranda Otto, Michael Caton and Georgie Parker.

This low-budget Aussie supernatural horror film was written and directed by Chris Roache, straight out of film school. He never directed anything else but went on to write for many Australian TV shows, including Heartbreak High and Home and Away. 

It’s worth a watch if you enjoy low-budget Ozploitation flicks; otherwise, there’s not a lot to see here.
