Ghost in the Invisible Bikini, The (1966)

The Ghost In The Invisible Bikini was a wild beach party romp in which a motorcycle gang gets involved with a Frankenstein’s monster type at a haunted mansion.

Hiram Stokely (Boris Karloff in one of his last film roles) is visited in his coffin by Cecily (Susan Hart), the ghost of his sweetheart of 30 years ago.

She tells him that if he performs a good deed within 24 hours, he can gain admittance into Heaven as a member in good standing and also become young again.

The good deed is to prevent his scheming attorney, Reginald Ripper (Basil Rathbone), from swindling Hiram’s rightful heir, young Chuck Phillips (Tommy Kirk), out of his inheritance.

As Chuck, his fiancée, Lili Morton (Deborah Walley), and his spinster aunt Myrtle Forbush (Patsy Kelly) prepare for the reading of the will, Myrtle’s swinging nephew Bobby (Aron Kincaid) arrives at the Stokely mansion to spend the weekend.

Also on hand are Eric Von Zipper (Harvey Lembeck) and his Rat Pack.

Amidst all the mayhem, the villainous Ripper finds it difficult to carry out his plan for doing away with Chuck.

When Ripper makes a last attempt at murder in the mansion’s basement chamber of horrors, Hiram and Cecily foil the scheme, and the inheritance rightfully goes to Chuck.

Having done his good deed, Hiram is given his reward, but it is more than he had bargained for – as Cecily leads him toward Heaven, he becomes 3 years old again.

A brunette Nancy Sinatra rocked out poolside with her little halter top in the rave-up Geronimo backed by The Bobby Fuller Four.

Quinn O’Hara featured as the short-sighted, bikini-clad villainess, Sinistra Ripper.

This was American International’s attempt to broaden the type of teen films they were producing beyond just placing the kids at the beach . . .

Director Don Weis graduated to television in the 1970s, churning out episodes of M*A*S*H and Charlie’s Angels.
