Hailing from Jersey in the Channel Islands and originally known as The Parlour Band, A Band Called O played Prog Rock on two albums for CBS/Epic – A Band Called O (1974) and Oasis (1975).
They later changed their name to The O Band and recorded further albums with UA – Within Reach (1976) and The Knife (1977).
Despite being championed by John Peel (for whom they recorded four ‘Peel Sessions’), the group had no chart success but remained a popular live act in Britain and Europe.
The group disbanded at the end of 1977.
