This animated ABC cartoon series from Hanna-Barbera dispensed with the satire of Jonathan Swift’s classic novel Gulliver’s Travels and concentrated instead on fantastic adventure.
Gary Gulliver and his dog Shag set out to find Gary’s father, Thomas. In the process, they were caught in a tropical storm and shipwrecked on the island of Lilliput.
Initially, Gulliver and the Lilliputians were suspicious of each other because of their tremendous size difference. But after confronting and defeating the Lilliputian’s feared enemy, Gulliver won the trust of King Pomp and his captors.
Together with his Lilliputian comrades Flirtacia, Eager, Glum and Bunko, Gulliver battled the villainous Captain Leech, who hankered after Gulliver’s treasure map.
