This short sequel to the long-running BBC comedy series Hugh and I reunited clueless friends Terry (Terry Scott) and Hugh (Hugh Lloyd), this time as a couple of unlikely (and very reluctant) intelligence agents unwittingly becoming involved in international espionage.

MI5 approach the hapless duo to help break up a Chinese dope gang. With their usual sense of patriotism, they refuse but become involved anyway when the thugs set out to nobble them regardless.

Aiding and abetting the pair were top intelligence man Bushbaby (Aidan Turner) and his right-hand man Studley (Rex Garner). Stephanie Gathercole played Miss Hepworth, Bushbaby’s tall, dark, leather-clad secretary.

Guests in the six episodes included Andrew Sachs, Lucille Soong, Carmen Silvera, James Beck, Queenie Watts, Julian Orchard, Francesca Tu and Ernst Ulman.

Lloyd and Scott reunited once more in the hilarious Gnomes of Dulwich (1969).
