This BBC comedy series based on the stories by P.G. Wodehouse featured the exploits of outrageous con man Stanley Featherstonehaugh (pronounced “fan-shaw”) Ukridge, played by Anton Rodgers.
Ukridge was a quick-witted – though rather incompetent – liar, thief, cadger (of money, tobacco, drinks and food) and layabout who only worked at crazy schemes that would never come off and for which other people would invariably have to pay.
Julian Holloway played Ukridge’s hapless chum Corky.
