There was an old woman known as Dirty Sally
She found a young outlaw wounded in the valley
She nursed him and she cursed him and she taught him right from wrong . . .
This spin-off from Gunsmoke featured Sally Fergus (Jeanette Nolan) – a rugged, tough, grey-haired, toothless, red-eye drinkin’, tobacco chewin’ scavenger of prairie junk in the 1880s.
Sally joined forces with Cyrus Pike (Dack Rambo) – an ornery young outlaw and reformed gunfighter who she regarded as the son she never had – and the unlikely duo became travelling companions in a mule-drawn wagon bound for the gold hills of “Californy”.
Stories revolved around the people they encountered and tried to help along their way.
The CBS series aired between January and April 1974.
