Debuting on Wednesday 29 July 1970, this Granada series presented three comedies about the sex game and stolen kisses, wanton wives, willing lovers and rather-too-gullible husbands.

Nicholas Braun (Francis Wallis) was a young student in love with a married woman, Hedwig (Toby Robins) was an actress who stole someone else’s husband – and put him in a wardrobe, and Johann (Michael Craig) and Erich (Jonathan Newth) discovered similar tastes while looking through a book of nudes.

Writer Ferenc Molnar was a candid observer of Hungarian society at play in the early 1900s and these stories were written when Molnar was only 19.
