17 x 7 minute episodes
Diminutive, short-tempered Sheriff Hoot Kloot (voiced by Bob Holt) is the clumsiest gun in the West but he’s trying hard to maintain law and order in the remote western town of Cactus Gulch. He is assisted by his gimpy old Walter Brennan-like talking horse, Fester (also voiced by Bob Holt).
Crazywolf (voiced by Larry D Mann) – a wolf outlaw with a few screws loose, as the name suggests – appeared in a number of episodes.
The 17 episodes were originally run by United Artists as trailers in cinemas but were later broadcast on TV as part of the NBC Saturday morning cartoon series The Pink Panther and Friends.
Sheriff Hoot Kloot was produced by DePatie-Freleng. Some of the later episodes were animated in Spain and the quality is noticeably poorer.
