13 x 30 minute episodes
In this eponymous and short-lived NBC sitcom, McLean Stevenson (previously Henry Blake on M*A*S*H) portrayed Mac Ferguson, who owned a hardware store in small-town Evanston, Illinois.
Mac and his wife Peggy (Barbara Stuart) were a longtime married couple who finally had the money and the time to enjoy life.
Unfortunately, his sarcastic, wise-cracking mother-in-law (Madge West) moved in and changed everything.
As if that weren’t enough, Mac and Peggy’s two adult children also returned – their lothario son, Chris (Steve Nevil) lived in the basement and was trying to “find himself,” and their newly-divorced daughter, Janet (Ayn Ruymen) returned with her two little boys, David (David Hollander) and Jason (Jason Whitney).
This show was cancelled after 13 weeks.
