This BBC comedy series starred Michael Craig as 50-year-old divorcee Harry Baxter, who falls in love with the much younger Vicki Holt (newcomer Patricia Brake), much to the disgust of his family and friends.
Harry had an 18-year-old daughter, Jenny (Kim Hardy) who was living with his ex-wife (Patrica Driscoll) – to whom he still paid alimony. Sheila Steafel appeared as Harry’s secretary, Delia, and Gerald Flood played his friend and business colleague, Ronnie. Jacqueline Clarke was Vicki’s flatmate, Maggie.
The first series followed their courtship, and the second presented their life after marriage.
A pilot for a US adaptation entitled Wild About Harry was aired on NBC on 26 May 1978.
Patricia Brake died of cancer in May 2022, aged 79.
