This NBC series was a cross between Superman and Zorro with the hero, Jack Cole (played by Dack Rambo), crusading against white-collar crime.
By day, Cole was a wealthy playboy, but after the 9-to-5 grind, he became a crimebuster chasing the bad guys who had been able to skirt the law.
Cole was an ex-con (he had been framed for embezzlement and sent to prison) who fought a never-ending battle for truth, justice and the American way using the skills and tricks he learnt during his three years in the slammer.
Whenever Jack struck, he would leave a playing card – the three of spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs.
Assisting him in his escapades were his old cellmate, Hector Ramirez (Bert Rosario), and a friend of the family called Arthur Woods (Alex Courtney), who also happened to be a Federal gangbuster.
Actor Dack Rambo died in March 1994 after disclosing he’d tested positive for the AIDS virus.
