6 x 30 minute episodes
A ferocious night in 1770 and another storm-lashed ship crashes into the deadly rocks at Dead Eye after following a flickering light on the shore.
The disasters are not accidents, however – they are organised by the Wreckers, inhabitants of a small coastal village called Thriabbas who use their lanterns to lure ships onto the rocks so that they can loot the cargo.
The villagers’ luck takes a downward turn when a survivor from their latest act of piracy, an eastern girl called Soraya (Claire Benjamin), manages to swim ashore. They must find her and silence her before she can reach the authorities and give evidence against them.
The only villagers not involved in the criminal activities are the occupants of Moor House, home of retired sea captain Shadrach (Jack Allen), his bosun Tobias (Arthur Lovegrove), niece Caroline (Catherine Organ) and stable lad Zac (Tom Owen). They must find Soraya and get her to safety before the Wreckers catch her.
The series was filmed entirely on location at Westleton in Suffolk, Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex and (mainly) on the East Anglia coastline.
