This series was created by Carl Macek of Harmony Gold, who combined footage from Leiji Matsumoto’s Space Pirate Captain Harlock and Queen Millennia anime series.
As a result of this forcing together of two unrelated series’, the protagonists of Harlock spent most of their time in space and the protagonists of Millennia spent most of their time on Earth while the two alien races that were simultaneously invading Earth – who were supposedly allies – never actually met!
Disgusted by the hedonistic state of mankind, the noble space pirate Harlock made it his mission to destroy cargo shipments of drugs and alcohol while battling Queen Regina, the evil alien ruler of the Mazones.
These warrior plant-women came from a planet that could no longer support life, and so they had set their sights on Earth.
Harlock cut a dashing rebel figure with his shaggy mane, cape, eyepatch and scar.
