This youth-oriented variety series revolved around a group of children and teenagers who performed in their own rock group, called Kids Incorporated.
The revolving young cast sang (or lip-synched) and danced to original tunes, oldies, and hits from the 1980s and early 90s.
The only recurring adult characters were Riley (Moosie Drier), Flip (Sean O’Riordan) and Dena (Dena Burton), who all worked at The P*lace (a club that was actually called The Palace, but the “a” in the sign had burned out and was never replaced).
The show premiered on 3 November 1986 and ran for nine seasons. Guests stars who appeared during the run included Florence Henderson and Barry Williams from The Brady Bunch, Ruth Buzzi, Edie Adams, Rip Taylor, Paul Rodriguez and David Hasselhoff.
Stacy Ferguson was the longest-running cast member, appearing in the pilot and six seasons. She would later go on to fame as just “Fergie” with The Black Eyed Peas.
Martika Marrero (who played Gloria) went on to a successful musical career following her 1988 hit, Toy Soldiers. Jennifer Love-Hewitt – credited as just “Love Hewitt” on the show – became a famous actress.
