This Channel 4 comedy series featured a trio of GPs at a small practice in the home counties.
The senior partner, sour-tempered Charles Sweet (John Wells) tolerated no time-wasting in his approach to his patients, treating them like a mechanic servicing a car. Sweet’s colleagues – doctors Pink and Putter – were a continual trial to him.
Peter Pink (John Bett) was a leftover from the flower-power days and considered himself one of the new enlightened breed of medics who recognised the failings of orthodox medicine.
Andrew Putter (Paul Mari) was young, inexperienced and extremely nervous. He lived in a bedsit and collected stamps.
