Teenager Alana (Katharine Cullen) comes from the year 3000 but has been kidnapped and taken back to 1990 by the evil Siverthorn (John Howard) – a criminal from the year 2500.
She is taken in by a kindly shopkeeper Irene Kelly (Helen O’Connor) and her two children: rebellious and streetwise teenager Jenny (Melissa Marshal) and precocious nine-year-old genius Petey (James Marshall Findlay).
With the aid of friendly science teacher Mr Rooney (Andrew Clarke), the gang try to track down Silverthorn’s time capsule and return Alana to the future.
Eddie (Miles Buchanan) is a clumsy, dimwitted young street tough who acts as Silverthorn’s chauffeur and henchman.
The second series aired as The Girl From Tomorrow: Tomorrow’s End.
