This half-hour ABC sitcom revolved around three diverse married couples who lived in a New York City brownstone (the house was actually located in Harlem, but the neighbourhood had been renamed ‘Central Park North’ to attract upscale tenants)
The long-married owners of the property were Nick and Olivia Williams (Ray Aranha and Barbara Montgomery). They lived on the first floor.
The second-floor tenants were yuppies Russell (Jay Thomas) and Elizabeth (Bess Armstrong) Myers, a stay-at-home freelance writer and a high-powered lawyer, respectively.
On the top floor lived the newlywed Campbells: Cindy (Megan Gallivan) – a waitress – and Allen (Chris Young) – a freshman at Columbia University.
The series was created by Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser.
