This routine NBC action series revolved around a team of young undercover vice cops in Las Vegas who bizarrely plied their trade wearing hoods and ninja-style black outfits (their outfits were at least emblazoned with the word “POLICE” in big letters, so bystanders would have some idea which side they were on).
The team dealt with big league murders, drug deals, and arms trading that had turned Las Vegas into Crime City USA, and comprised all the requisite stereotypes: a hunk (Jeff Kaake), a rookie (Craig Hurley), a black guy (Don Franklin), a Latino (Benjamin Bratt) and an Asian guy (James Pax).
Lt. Krieger (Hill Street Blues star Dennis Franz) was the requisite hard-bitten superior who reported directly to Chief Bradley (Sandy McPeak).
Surprisingly, Nasty Boys was based on a real-life police unit, the North Las Vegas Narcotics Bureau.
