Anthropomorphic American pigs Pinks (Tessa Crockett) and Troyboy (Richard Gauntlett) run an American-style pizza place called ‘Pigsty’, located within Promo Park, a complex headed by self-important mummy’s boy Martin “MT” Trotter (Mark Hadfield) which also houses the hottest recording studio in the country.
An overambitious man, MT yearns to be a successful businessman. Unfortunately, he’s more bumbling idiot than high flyer.
The bins out the back of ‘Pigsty’ are frequently raided by a pig boy called Little Pig (Peter Mandell).
Chaos ensues when a planned visit from the sanitary inspector coincides with a dog on the loose in Promo Park; the pigs come to loggerheads with MT when he decides they need a personal trainer, and Little Pig’s pet rat escapes on the very same day that Princess Sophie of San Marino pays a visit.
The brainchild of writer Paul Mendelson (So Haunt Me, My Hero), Pigsty was broadcast on Monday afternoons as part of the Children’s BBC (CBBC) lineup.
