Get It Together

1 9 7 7 - 1 9 8 1 (UK)

Get It Together was a TV pop show featuring groups miming to their hits in front of a studio audience of kids, presented by Roy North (fresh from The Basil Brush Show) and Linda Fletcher.

Guests were generally of the Cliff Richard/Showaddywaddy/Shakin' Stevens/Suzi Quatro ilk despite the prevalence of punk rock in Britain at the time, although the more acceptable face of new wave was represented by acts such as The Boomtown Rats, Squeeze, Elvis Costello, U2 and Adam & The Ants.

As was the norm for the day, the show had its own dance group, called Him & Us (containing a pair of stunning twins called Teri and Lisa Scoble), who had originally appeared on Shang-A-Lang.

Get It Together was created by Muriel Young, who had hosted Small Time and The Five O'Clock Club on TV in the 50s and 60s, before moving on to produce many successful children's television programmes at Granada.
