    30/60 minute episodes

Singer Dotty Mack hosted this weekly show – originally called Girl Alone – from Cincinnati where a cast lip-synced, and danced to, songs of the period.

Most of the songs pantomimed were currently popular favourites or novelty songs by such stars as Eddie Fisher, Perry Como, or Patti Page; sometimes puppets or other visual aids accompanied the mimes.

The series ran on the DuMont Television Network from February to August 1953 and switched to ABC in September 1953.

Things began to get complicated when rock & roll started taking over the hit parade in 1955. Although Dotty gamely included such records as Rock Around The Clock in her repertoire, the sight of pleasant young people pantomiming to Elvis Presley or Buddy Holly records became slightly ludicrous and the show quietly passed from the screen in September 1956.
