This ultra-hyped late-night Chanel 4 magazine-style show was presented by Amazonian New York supermodel Rachel Williams and her pals Sara Cox and Claire Gorham (joined by Sarah Cawood in the second series), who generally went out of their way to demonstrate that women swear, drink loads and love sex (they talked about boozin’ and shaggin’ a lot).
Regular segments on the show included “Toilet Talk”, where girls were interviewed in the ladies’ loos about burning topics of the day, such as whether they preferred big dicks or small ones; “Girls’ Night Out”, which had the cameras follow a group of women as they went on a social rampage; a “Viewers’ Husbands” slot where women sent in photographs of their naked hubbies, and “Wanker of the Week,” where the presenters nominated the likes of Liam Gallagher, Peter Andre, Craig Charles, Jimmy Nail, Jeremy Clarkson and Naomi Campbell for the weekly “honour”.
The show also featured a Cinéma vérité segment called “The Naked Apes”, which followed a group of four young “lads” from Sunderland in their constant quest to get pissed and score a shag.
The four presenters had little live television experience, and the series received considerable media backlash due to its often amateurish production standards and the “witless” subject matter.
Feminist commentators also panned the show, complaining that it appealed to male chauvinistic stereotypes.
