Donald Wolfit presented and linked this series of hour-long fantasy/suspense plays, portraying a connoisseur and collector of crime-related objects.
The series began with Mary Hayley Bell’s ‘Duet for Two Hands’ – in which a poet who lost his hands in an accident is given, by a plastic surgeon, the hands of a man who has been hanged – and went on to present Barre Lyndon’s ‘The Man in Half Moon Street’, Emlyn Williams’ ‘Night Must Fall’ and Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts’ ‘Portrait in Black’, amongst others.
