This jolly programme of Scottish songs and dances presented a traditional yet somewhat dated half-hour series celebrating north-of-the-border nationalism via such variety turns as Jimmy Shand and his band, Kenneth McKellar, Moira Anderson, the Clan Hay Dancers and the Royal Scottish Country Dance Orchestra.
The series was introduced initially by Peter Norwell and then by Alastair MacIntyre for many years, with Ian Wallace taking over in 1963. Bobby Watson and his Deeside Dancers assisted.
Episodes were broadcast from famous Scottish houses including Hopetoun House in Queensferry; Glamis Castle in Angus, and Blair Castle in Perthshire.
The kilt-swirling showcase was broadcast parallel toΒ The White Heather Club.Β Both were BBC Glasgow-based productions.
