This NBC seriesfeatured events in the life of Jim Redigo (Richard Egan), the foreman of the half-million-acre Garrett Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which hosted thriving industries including oil, mining, logging, cattle, sheep, horse-breeding and crop-raising.
Jim supervised operations for Lucia Garrett (Anne Seymour), the ranch owner and matriarch of the Garrett family. Her husband, Dave Garrett, was born in 1924 and lost his life in 1954 during a bad storm when he drowned in a flash flood.
Connie (Terry Moore) and Tal (Ryan O’Neal) were Lucia’s adult children. Tal assisted Jim and their ranch hand, Paul Moreno (Charles Bronson). Connie was more business-minded and ran the Lazy G Guest Ranch.
The series did not fare well and for the second season (1963) the title was changed to Redigo, with Jim now the owner of his own cattle ranch in Mesa, New Mexico, and episodes reduced from 60 minutes to 30 minutes and several major cast changes.
The series aired in the UK on ITV as Big G.
