This 24 part black and white drama series from Granada attracted praise from the Law Society who said: “for years we have waited for television to present a series like this”.
Naylor and Freeman was the name of the firm of solicitors. There were five partners – Senior partners William Naylor (A.J. Brown) and Anthony Freeman (Robert Flemyng), and junior partners Francis Naylor (Bernard Horsfall), Ann Harvey (Mary Kenton) and Hugh Cowley (Geoffrey Palmer) – and each handled a variety of cases involving human problems.
The firm employed a staff of 30 secretaries and clerks.
