This short-lived comedy series from ATV featured Peggy Mount as Virginia Browne, who has been left a detective agency (the Fitzroy-Browne Agency) by her deceased brother, John.
Fitzroy (Naunton Wayne) is the other partner, and the agency is as crooked as a bent pin – a fact which is obvious to everyone except Virginia and Fitzroy as they bungle their way through their private investigations and proceed to get entangled with all sorts of odd characters.
The body of the man which appeared in the opening of each episode, dumped from a hearse in the gutter as a brass band walked past, was actually Peggy Mount herself. The producers argued, who better to play the defunct John Browne than his sister.
