This brief live-action/animated segment of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour used real microscopic life as a background.

Professor Carter (voiced by Don Messick) and his teenage kids Jill (voiced by Patsy Garrett) and Mike (voiced by Tommy Cook) were shrunk down to microscopic size so they could examine cellular life from the cell’s point of view.

The threesome also ran across giant animals, birds and insects, often forcing them to speed away in their microscopic dune buggy.

The story was produced by Hanna-Barbera and ran for only four episodes in November and December 1968.
