    Twice a Fortnight

    11 x 30 minute episodes

This weekly (“twice a fortnight”) BBC1 series was filmed before a studio audience plied with alcohol to warm them up resulting in a little too much anarchic “audience participation” which came across as gruesomely amateur.

But the short series – which aired late on Saturday nights in October, November and December 1967 (after Match of the Day) – gave invaluable early television experience to future members of The Goodies and Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

The series was sired by the radio programme I’m Sorry, I’ll Read That Again.

Musical guests included The Who, Cream, Small Faces, The Moody Blues, The Scaffold, Simon Dupree and the Big Sound, The Spinners and Cat Stevens.
