Frank Muir headed up this 30-minute programme of “comedy, music and glee” on ITV for the newly appointed London Weekend Television which first went on the air at 7.00 pm on 2 August 1968.
Unfortunately, an industrial dispute caused a blackout after the debut show had only been on the air for about 30 seconds.
The show also featured Kenneth Cope, Eric Idle, Dick Vosburgh and Katherine Whitehorn. Terry Gilliam created animations using cut-outs, a technique he later used in Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
